As summer continues to embrace Brussels with its warm embrace, we present Part 2 of the Best Terraces of Brussels (check out part 1 here). In addition to the Guinguettes – outdoor cafe’s – scattered across parks, we continue to collect and share the list of our favorite hidden and not-so-hidden terraces in the city for you to explore.
Bar du Matin (above) in Forest offers a delightful experience with its expansive terrace that extends gover the sidewalk. Situated at the top of Chaussee d’Alsemberg, it provides an ideal spot to kickstart or conclude an enjoyable evening, especially with a plethora of fantastic restaurants nearby. The spacious terrace at Bar du Matin invites patrons to unwind and soak in the vibrant ambiance of the surrounding neighborhood.
Wokr17 (above) is one of the best, private spots tucked away in Matonge, perfect for an after work drink or to unwind after some shopping at Porte de Namur. In addition to a being a great bar and restaurant (which also serves brunch), Wokr 17 hosts regular events and workshops to foster a sense of community and collaboration among its members. See how full review here.
Only a stones throw from Wokr 17 toward Flagey is Place Fernand Coq (below) – In particular, Café Tulipant is a great spot in the sun to grab a spritz. Place Fernand Coq is full of good bars and restaurants making it an excellent location for groups looking for a casual place to meet up on a hot day, or if you are looking for some fun people watching. A big perk is you can choose if you want to sit on the sunny side or shady side.
In Bois de la Cambre there is the wonderful Woodpecker (below). The Woodpecker is part of a chain throughout Brussels, most of which have great outdoor seating. Located in the center of the park, just north of the pond, it is a perfect terrace for a break while strolling, a central location to meet friends, or a perfect spot to people watch the passing bikers and park-goers. The Woodpecker also often hosts live concerts and events. See our full review of places to eat and drink in Bois de la Cambre here.
Nestled in the charming north of Place du Général Pontey-Nauer, Caberdouche is a great bar and restaurant, enchanting visitors with its delightful ambiance and a touch of romance. What sets this establishment apart is its captivating terrace, providing the perfect setting for a truly memorable dining experience.
The romantic terrace at Caberdouche offers a serene escape from the bustling city, allowing guests to immerse themselves in an intimate and enchanting atmosphere. Whether you’re looking for a cozy dinner date or a relaxing evening with friends, this idyllic spot sets the stage for unforgettable moments.
