Café des Spores does a good job at being both chic and cozy. I believe over the years it has gone through several iterations of just how “mushroomy” the food is… but I found the chef perfectly combined the novelty of a mushroom based restaurant, with subtle cuisine and delicious recipes!
The interior is rather austere, yet still welcoming. The restaurant is full of intimate 2-4 person tables, with a great mezzanine, as well as a (small) private room upstairs. The open kitchen as you walk in adds not only to the atmosphere, but also the heat – therefore I would recommend Café des Spores as a great fall/winter dining spot.

Located in the heart of Saint-Gilles he restaurant is great for a date night, or intimate, small gathering. However, while there is a great selection of wines, there are limited cocktail and beer options. While it is a bit limiting, you get the feel that most of the drinks are specially selected and well catered to the menu.
- Chic yet cosy
- Great for a date or intimate dinner
- Small (curated) menu and drink list
