5 of our favorite cafés in Brussels

Coffee culture is on the rise in Brussels - while it isn't always easy to find a good cup of coffee, here are some of our favorite cafés around the city!

The best cafes in Brussels tend to be clustered in certain areas; for instance Saint Gilles and Danseart are some of the best spots to wander into a café for a delicious coffee. For other areas, you might need a little help to find a good cup :). Here are some suggestions to help you navigate the good cups thorough the city!

Stella

Chau. de Charleroi 91A, 1060 Saint-Gilles

Nestled on the the corner of Chaussee de Charleroi and Rue Veydt, Stella is an amazing coffee stop. It’s awesome how they can create such a good variety of delicous drinks in this little spot! We highly recommend their , or their special cocktail style coffees.

In addition to the amazing coffee, Stella has a neighborhood vibe with friendly baristas, and talkative clients. Despite not being part of the neighbordhood, every time we’ve gone, we feel fit mesh right into this warm environment.

Stella was started by three friends, and get’s its namesake from one of the owners dogs, Stella. If you are lucky, you might see Stella outside the shop, and get to admire the adorable polaroid’s of other visiting dogs on the wall.

 Belga & Co

Rue du Bailli 7A, 1000 Bruxelles; Rue E. Solvay 12, 1050 Ixelles

There are two Belga & Co, one is located in Matonge, on Rue Ernest Solvay, and the other on Rue du Bailli – not to be confused with Café Belga in Flagey. Both have a warm atmosphere with usually plenty of seating, and nice outdoor spaces. If you are looking for a light lunch, or a pastry to go with your coffee – Belga is a good option.

Bouche

Rue de Namur 4, 1000 Bruxelles

Ok so Bouche has amazing coffees- but taking it a step farther, I love a café if they are able to make a proper chai latte, and Bouche definitely can. A great atmosphere, and incredibly knowledgeable and friendly staff.

There are tons of cafes on Rue de Namur, just up the street from Bouche. And while they might have more of a coffee shop vibe, good for lounging and spending the afternoon with a book, Bouche is the best coffee on the street, and the surrounding area.

Café Leopold

Av. de Tervueren 107, 1040 Etterbeek; Rue de Louvain 2, 1000 Bruxelles; Rue du Trône 67, 1050 Ixelles; Av. du Diamant 116, 1030 Schaerbeek

Ok, Café Leopold is not in here for the quality of the coffee, but for the atmosphere and concept – its truly a Belgian spot. It is one of those café/concept stores, with plenty of fun books to browse and buy while you enjoy a coffee/snack, most of which are Belgian/Belgian themed.

Kami

Chau. de Waterloo 355, 1060 Saint-Gilles

Kami is a popular spot among locals and visitors alike. Located in Saint-Gilles, Kami has a cozy and relaxed atmosphere, with a menu featuring a variety of coffees, teas, and light bites. In addition, Kami has a great outdoor seating area to enjoy your coffee/lite bite!
