Met Plaizier

On an unexpected, otherwise drab street Met Plaizier brings a freshness to Uccle. Oh not to mention the great coffee and treats!

I have said several times that Brussels is lacking enough quality cafés, fortunately though, Met Plaizier is helping fill this gap in Uccle! In addition to the great drinks, Met Plaizier has light breakfast, lunch, and snack options, with plenty of seasonal options (at  good prices)! I find their soup du jour often hits the spot on these cold winter days, as do their rather oversized cookies :).

Beyond being just a café, Met Plaizier has a store component where they support up and coming Belgian and European entrepreneurs. The shop includes books, home goods, food items, and jewelry. They host monthly open “pitch meetings” where these companies can come and pitch their products for display in the store! Pretty neat.

To round it all out, the store, coffee and food is nicely packaged in a comfortable, large, well kept space that is perfect to meet a friend, bring a book or some work, and enjoy a few hours in Uccle.

Pros
  • Good coffee and food
  • Great atmosphere and staff
Cons
  • Not open on the weekends

Glad I discovered this café almost in "deep" Uccle. It is great if you plan to venture into the park, or need a break in a quieter part of town. Also love concept of their store supporting local entrepreneurs.

A bright spot in Uccle for a relaxed coffee and place to have a small meal.
